NF EN ISO/IEC 17029: the accreditation scheme is available!

Published at the end of 2019 by the international standardisation bodies, the new NF EN ISO/IEC 17029 standard is the subject of a new Cofrac accreditation mark which is now available!

In the Compétences n°88 released in June, Carole Toussaint, Director of the Inspection division said "Our priority is to open accreditation according to the 17029 standard for organisations that will take action as part of the mission-oriented companies system". This is now done, and organisations can submit an application file to Cofrac according to this new standard.

The corporate website has been updated accordingly and now includes the corresponding application and requirements packs. These packs are accessible from the menu at the top right, section "How do you get accreditation?".

Entitled "Conformity assessment - General principles and requirements for validation and verification bodies", the NF EN ISO/IEC 17029 standard concerns bodies which carry out conformity assessment operations called "validation" and "verification", operations which correspond to confirmation of the reliability or veracity of information resulting from claims made by third parties.

The NF EN ISO/IEC 17029 standard will allow the deployment of new systems, such as the "mission-oriented companies" promoted by the french Ministry of the Economy and Finance. It is also aimed at professionals who were already performing data verifications, such as verifying extra-financial performance declarations for example.

The first assessments according to this new standard are expected in the fourth quarter of 2021.
